About Annie
Annie O’Moon-Browning has been a Practitioner & Senior Lecturer of
Natural Medicine in Brisbane for the past 25 years. She specialises in
Natural Detoxification Programs, Homeopathic Constitutional care,
Colon Hydrotherapy, Pregnancy, Natural Conception & the Natural
treatment of animals.
Annie’s work as a health care professional focuses in bringing her
clients to physical & emotional balance & wellbeing. She radiates a
natural confidence & expertise that leaves her clients feeling
motivated & positive about their health & wellness goals. Annie takes
a personal interest in the progress of each of her clients as she
encourages them on their pathway to better health.
Annie’s work incorporates a holistic way of interpreting data, which
includes biological understanding of the body as well as the
psychological & emotional aspects. Each client receives written info
as a powerful informative tool for self awareness & healing.
Annie puts her clients at ease by listening carefully & closely
discussing their health goals & issues. She offers clients individual
programs that are tailored to their own special needs.
Annie has helped countless people over 25 years as a skilled &
dedicated practitioner & healer. She regularly conducts workshops,
seminars & programs throughout S-E Queensland & shares the profound
experience of “Dancing Into Ecstasy” as a transformational tool for
healing.
Annie is the Founder & Director of “My Health Sanctuary” in Bardon in
the beautiful green belt of Brisbane.

Annie's Story.
My journey into the field of Natural Medicine began in 1977 in rural
Tasmania. I had become fascinated with the herbs & plants that grew
wild everywhere in that cooling delightful temperate environment. I
had read that many had reputed medicinal value so I applied for a
correspondence course in Herbal medicine, Biochemic tissue salts &
Bach Flower remedies.
This was the start of a career that has never let up!
I became hooked on the learning & the incredible wealth of knowledge
recorded about natures healing abilities. As I progressed with my
studies I became more & more fascinated & convinced that my
vocation this life time was to help & heal humanity.
1977 was also the year that my darling mother was diagnosed with her
first breast cancer. Through my shock & grief at this superb woman’s
illness I threw myself into my studies convinced that the natural
medicines & health giving properties of organic nutrition were by
far the best option for her renewal to vibrant health.
My Mother enthusiastically embraced my fledgling learning’s &
encouraged my continued studies as she returned to the vigorous &
energetic young woman that I loved so much.
In 1980 I moved to the sunnier more tropical climate of Queensland&. It
was here that my education really started in earnest. I enrolled at
the Brisbane College of Traditional Acupuncture & the Southern Cross
School of Herbal Medicine. Here I attained qualifications in
Naturopathy, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Iridology, Bach Flower
Remedies, Biochemic Tissue Salts & Massage Therapy.
My enthusiasm & commitment to the cause also ensured me a place as a
lecturer at these fledgling colleges. This education of young minds
into the field of Natural Medicine continued with my employment as
principle lecturer in Homeopathy & contributing lecturer in
Naturopathy at the Colleges here in Brisbane from the 1984-2004.
I began clinical practice in 1982. My work specialised in the care of
Women & Children, especially maternal welfare, Pregnancy, Breast
feeding & Natural Conception. Many of my clients enjoyed happy
healthy child bearing, child birth & lactation with the use of
natural versus orthodox medicine.

At that
time I also enjoyed a regular clientele of the feline & canine
variety!! This still is an especially delightful consultation as we
sit outside under the shade of the Jacaranda tree discussing my
4-legged clients health idiosyncrasies, whilst puppy or kitten enjoy a
cool bowl of freshly filtered water!
In 1992 after the birth of my son, I returned to the now fully fledged
Australian College of Natural Medicine to complete my degree in
Homoeopathy.
This was again to re shape my clinical practice into the
constitutional care of my Patients. Via treating hereditary patterns
of disease, psychological traumas or dysfunctional behaviour &
fears; the cure rate for the complaints presented to me by my patients
was exponentially improved.
With the daily usage of Homeopathy in conjunction with Herbal &
Nutritional supplements, my practice broadened. I found myself surfing
the forefront Natural Health Care for Men. This has been & still is
a much neglected area of health care in Australia. Gladly, the 2000’s
have seen more & more men turning to Natural Health for their
primary health care. The excellent results gained in my practice are
testimony to the healing powers of Nature & men’s willingness to
follow their women on a path to greater health through natural
medicine.
This in combination with the ever increasing usage of Herbal Tonics
& Nutritional programs for all manner of ill health, led to an
interesting diversity in my practice.
During the late ‘90’s & early into 2000 I began to see more chronic
ill health patterns arising in my patients & I became increasingly
concerned with the mounting numbers of chronically ill people
attending my clinic.
2000 was also the year that my beautiful mother discovered her second
breast cancer. Although this was an awful shock to my family, as she
had been so incredibly well for so many years, it was again the
impetus for another change in my practice.
With her return to full health in mind, I set out to research further
methods of naturally cleansing the body, mind & soul. Knowing that
we live in a progressively toxic world, I realised that there are many
health complications from a system overloaded with heavy metals,
chemicals & pesticides. This led me on a journey of professional
development & discovery. I investigated the deeper aspects of
natural detoxification of the body. This was in order to discover
methods that would enable the bodies innate defence mechanism to
operate more effectively.
With the back up of Computerised Hair Mineral analysis to identify the
‘hidden agenda’ of heavy metal & chemical overload in the body, I
developed deep tissue cleansing programs involving the use of Herbal,
Homeopathic & Nutritional Medicines.
In early 2001, I received training in the ancient art of Colon
Hydrotherapy (Colonic Irrigation). This, in conjunction with the
gentle thorough cleansing action of the Pure Plant, Herbal &
Homeopathic Detoxification programs, revolutionised my clinical
practice.
In 2003 my love of physical movement, dance, yoga & tai Chi led me
to the incredible experience of training as a facilitator of “Dancing
into Ecstasy” This profoundly beautiful, incredibly fun & amazingly
transformational authentic dance was to instil in my patients, friends
& family a connection to their deeper selves in ways that no verbal
counselling can ever elicit. It remains my ‘fun’ job & the melodies
of extraordinary muse regularly resound from “My Health Sanctuary” in
the hills of Bardon, as we dance the night away, melting layers of
stress & sweating our prayers.
In early 2006 my mother was finally diagnosed with a large abdominal
tumour. Under my professional care & with the assistance of other
Natural Health Care Professionals, my family nursed my angelic, brave
& gorgeous mother through to her final time. Defying the Doctors
prognosis of 2 weeks left of life & with the assistance of the ‘Gerson
Program’, (a nutritional program for seriously degenerative diseases)
she was able to live out the best possible life she could have for 10
glorious months, pain free until her last 2 days.
I continue my work, research & journey into this fascinating field of
health.
